This is the yearly event since 1986 which is a  lively festival offering a special Chinese cultural experience.  This iconic event has become an integral tradition of Singapore’s Lunar New Year celebrations for locals and tourists alike. You will get from giant lanterns to mouth-watering food which are feasts for your senses.   If you want to feel the CNY atmosphere,  you and your family should be heading to this after your reunion dinner.   Things to look out for include the God of Fortune, and of course, the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac. On Handicraft Street, catch ‘live’ demonstrations of Chinese calligraphy and paper cutting, a display of intricate handicrafts, jewelry, ethnic costumes and other cultural products.

A myriad of fringe activities, ranging from amusement rides to carnival games, will ensure that there is never a dull moment. Opera and other street performances round up this colorful extravaganza.
