Civic District Events

Singapore School Holidays Kids' Zone

Kids’ Zone (7.30am – 12.00pm)

Your kids will enjoy these fun filling activities happening every Sunday.  Enjoy family-friendly activities such as turning a pebble into an ornamental art piece, taking part in the ‘Plants & Culture’ plant propagation activity, sketching and colouring, or having fun at everybody’s favourite bouncy castles.

 

Monument Trail (9.00am – 10.30am / 10.30am – 12.00pm)

Singapore School Holidays Monument Trail

Visit the historical landmarks of the Civic District that tell the story of Singapore’s history, growth and development. Learn more about the heritage and other interesting trees around the vicinity. The Monument Trail starts at Cavenagh Bridge near the mouth of the Singapore River, once the heart of Singapore’s commercial activity and entrepôt trade, and brings you through Empress Place and Esplanade Park before ending at War Memorial Park.

Safe Riding Clinic (8.00am to 12.00pm)

Singapore School Holidays safe riding

Think you are a safe rider? Put your riding habits to test at our specially designed course. Safe for kids and adults alike, have fun as you tackle situations in daily life. Bicycles and helmets will be provided. You are also welcome to give the course a try with your own personal mobility devices.

Civic District Tree Trail (9.30am – 11.00am)

Singapore School Holidays CD tree trail

Explore Singapore’s historic Civic District and be awed by many majestic and interesting trees, some of which have stood tall for many generations and witnessed the transformation and progress of Singapore through the years. Join us as we take you through part of the trail starting from Raffles Landing to CHIJMES.

Makers, let’s shrunk their kids!

(Kids (8-12 years old) and Parents

Join our makers this June Singapore School Holidays and venture into their world of microscopy! Collect specimens from the garden and discover new things as you examine them up close through the microscope. Visit our showcase of the different types of microscopes used to examine objects and how each of their unique features help see different features of the microscopic world.
And lastly, understand how microscopes work and make a small DIY microscope that can be attached onto your camera phone for more pictures taking fun! So let’s sneak a peek! It’s time to make small things look big, and big things even bigger! Be a crime buster!
