The Helix serves as a direct connection between Marina Centre and the Bayfront area. The Bayfront Bridge is part of Bayfront Avenue near Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort. They both runs parallel to each other and provides a connection between Marina Centre and the Marina South area for the first time.
Before the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort is fully completed, pedestrians planning to cross from Marina Centre to the Bayfront area can use The Helix.
