Singapore Snow City
General Description
Snow City is the first and only permanent indoor snow centre in Singapore. Could you imagine our sunny Singapore has real snow for you every week of the year?
For children who had never experience snow in the tropics, the Snow City is one great alterative and is cheaper too (no need to travel overseas). You now has the option of escaping from the hot and humid Singapore and experience a “Winter” experience right here. Have a snowball fight, go snowboarding and skiing or simply take in the displays and taking photos in the Sub-Zero Exhibition. Instructors are also available to teach you how to ski and snowboard. However, registration is required for these sessions, so it’s best if you call first.
Snow City is a 3,000 sq-metre centre with its facilities spread over 2 storeys. Of this, 1,200 sq-metres is covered with snow, called the Snow Chamber. You can snow tube, snowboard or ski your way down this ‘giant snow slide’. It is located just next to the Singapore Science Centre and the Omni-Theatre.
The Snow Chamber is constantly maintained at -5°C. Separating these areas from the non-snow areas is an airlock area which helps visitors moving from different temperature zones get acclimatized.
