Vienna Boys’ Choir

Vienna Boy’s Choir is one of the world’s favourite children’s choir formed in 1498 by Emperor Maximilian I. From as early as 1926, the Choir performed outside the Austrian Imperial Chapel, paving the way to today’s highly successful world tours.
There are around 100 choristers between the ages of ten and fourteen, divided into four touring choirs. The four choirs give around 300 concerts and performances each year in front of almost half a million people.
The choir’s repertoire includes everything from medieval motets to Beatles and Celine Dion, from folk songs to film scores.
In recent years, they have performed with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Recent guest conductors include Pierre Boulez, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Muti.

World Mental Health Day (WMHD) 2010 Celebrations

Get the chance to B.Positive with funny man Chua Enlai, serenaded by local music duo Jack and Rai, caricaturised by our local artist and design your own ‘positive message’ tote bag!
Organised by the Health Promotion Board (HPB), along with partners including the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) and Silver Ribbon Singapore, the WMHD 2010 Celebrations aims to boost positive mental well-being among Singaporeans.
More than 5,000 copies of a specially produced B.Positive CD sampler featuring hit songs by The Black Eyed Peas, Gwen Stefani, Mika and the 2009 Singapore Idol winner Sezairi Sezali will also be given away.
So come on down with your family and friends and be Positive!

ARTSingapore 2010: Celebrating 10 Years of Contemporary Asian Art

The 10th edition of the region’s longest running contemporary art fair will be back from 8 to 11 October at Suntec Singapore. Positioned as the premier boutique fair for contemporary Asian art in the region, ARTSingapore will continue to focus on bringing quality works to match the growing sophistication and demand of the contemporary art market in Asia.
To celebrate 10 years of ARTSingapore – The Contemporary Asian Art Fair, activities commemorating the growth of the contemporary art scene in Singapore will be held. Art Conversations, where art experts explore topics in art with visitors, as well as a charity gala dinner to commemorate the 10th edition of this prestigious fair, will be organised in conjunction with ARTSingapore 2010. Many other exciting events to celebrate this milestone for contemporary Asian art in Singapore are also being planned
Since 2000, ARTSingapore is the platform where gallery owners, collectors, artists and art aficionados gather to forge business alliances, acquire new contemporary artworks, share ideas and exchange information.
The well-received NEW FINDS, introduced at the 9th edition of ARTSingapore last year, a space for talented artists to showcase their work on an internationally recognised platform, looks set to be back again with more exciting artists, giving visitors a chance to discover new works.

Battle of the Year Breakdance South East Asia – Breakdance Competition
Once again Singapore Street Festival is hosting Battle of the Year (BOTY) South East Asia breakdance competition here in Singapore. Neighbouring South East Asia crews making their way to Singapore (including our Singapore Bboys) in serious battle for the South East Asia Champion Title. The Champion gets to represent the South East Asia Best Breakdance crew in the Battle of the Year (BOTY) Finals at Montpellier, France in November 2010.
An event not to be missed as you get to witness creative move with the toughest skills of control and discipline in highly powered by energy and stamina till the whole battle is done!
