Las Vegas Sands Corp opens its first phase of its $5.5b (S$7.5b) Marina Bay Sands on April 27 2010. Its debut at 3.18pm which is an auspicious time meaning prosperity in Chinese dialects. The First phase opening will comprise of 963 hotel rooms, part of shopping mall (including shops like Guess, Raoul and Apple Epicentre) at Marina Bay Sands and The Sands Expo and Convention Center, celebrity chef restaurants along with other dining outlets and the casino.

Marina Bay Sands aims to become one of the most remarkable leisure and business destinations ever created. Analyst had said that Marina Bay Sands could be the most profitable casino with its hotel and integrated entertainment concepts. It will immediately go to work by hosting its first event, the Inter-Pacific Bar Association’s annual conference, just days after opening its doors.

Marina Bay Sands is being hailed as one of the world’s most extravagant designed integrated resorts. Las Vegas Sands named the project as one of the world’s most challenging construction projects and certainly the most expensive stand-alone integrated resort property ever built. The rest of Marina Bay Sands will open in phases with the grand opening on June 23. The theatres, Disney’s The Lion King, museum and Crystal Pavilions on Marina Bay will open later this year.

It is the second stand-alone integrated (IR) resort in Singapore and definitely a MUST visit for anyone visiting or staying in Singapore. One can spend most of the time there: staying, shopping, eating, museum and other entertainments. A one-stop resort catering the needs of everyone in the family.
Wow! Singapore have so much more changes, I have not been there for quite a while, now taking care of my cats including some abandoned cats and kittens, so difficult for me to travel and almost impossible to travel. I miss going down to Singapore, I have many relatives staying there. Hope one day will be able to visit this beautiful Lion city again.
