SAFRA Singapore Bay Run & Army Half Marathon 2010
For: Runners and Supporters
Come and support one of the largest annual mass running event in Singapore! About 70,000 participated last year. The runners will enjoy a unique route over the iconic Benjamin Sheares Bridge, through the new down town at Marina Bay area as well as pass historical places. The Marathon consists of different categories such as the competitive 21-km half-marathon and 10-km route, and non-competitive 5km fun run.
Although the registration for the race is closed, you can come down and support the runners and have a fun day at the carnival, where various performances will be taking place.
If I could wait up early for the Marathon, I will take part in the 21km and take some photos home. So see you there!

Istana Open House

Visit to the Istana is not an everyday affair, this is a good chance for your family to enjoy the serenity and grandness of the Istana grounds. The Istana grounds are open to the public five times a year in celebration and this Friday, 10 September 2010 is one of those special occasion to celebrate Hari Raya Puasa.
You can purchase attractive Istana souvenirs, which are only available during these Open Houses.
Admission to the Istana grounds is free for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents. Others, including foreign visitors, are required to pay an entrance fee of $1 per person. Entrance to the grounds is via the main gate at Orchard Road. Opening hours are usually from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm.

One Heart Mass CPR 2010
Be part of this historic event and get written into the Guinness Book of World Records with this mass cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It starts with participants learning the steps and techniques of CPR basic training, followed by the record-breaking attempt. The first ever to be recorded by the Singapore Book of Records, be part of it!

World First Aid Day 2010

It is better to be safe than never! Educate and teach your child to the essential life-skill of first-aid which might be handy someday. This year’s theme is ‘First Aid Begins @ Home’. Bring your child to this free event for an interactive fun-filled afternoon of first aid talks, demos, treasure hunt for the family, magic shows and carnival. Kids will learn how to deal with a fall, nose bleed, cuts, scalds, and fire.
