Weekend is around the corner and I am recommending some activities for you and your family to participate and enjoy.    Hopefully you will like the recommendations as much as me and have fun.   MOST activities are FREE! Red heart

 

National Art Gallery Open House

The grand City Hall and the Supreme Court buildings are going to transform to a new National Art Gallery soon.   After this open house, the old Supreme Court buildings and City Hall will be closed for renovation and restoration and will complete by 2013. However, before it happens, come down for this weekend to enjoy these historic spaces for FREE. 

There will be many events suitable for the whole family including flea markets, a snack fair and also activity corners for children. On top of that, there will be some exciting activities such as film screenings and portrait drawings.  You will be also able to see 12 winning entries of a photography competition organized by the Gallery and the Singapore Photographic Society of Singapore on level one of City Hall.

I would suggest that you download the digital copy of the itinerary in order to enjoy the event better.

Candle Night@ Marina Bay

Do you want to participate in lighting up the Marina Bay waterfront using candles in floating lanterns with art students from Singapore and Japan and the Lighting Detectives?  together with public participants will light the waterfront in Marina Bay using candles in floating lanterns.  You will enjoy the spectacle ambient lighting of soft candle lights and dimming of the surrounding buildings.  Your child will be using recyclable materials to create beautiful lanterns in various shapes and sizes in workshops and float them in the water around the Clifford Pier at twilight. .

Come down and enjoy an evening of beautiful flickering candle light!

Traditional Medicine Expo 2010

  1. Amazing that most of these great activities are free.  I would love to attend something like the tradtonal medicine activity.  I'm surprised other cities don't hire you to create posts like this for them 😎
