I have handpicked many exciting activities for your family to save you from cracking your head on where to bring your family to during this weekends. This week, there are some parenting workshops that cater to the needs of parents, would-be parents and guardians. All activities provide opportunities for family bonding, fun and what’s more….. some activities are FREE! Enjoy and wish you a Happy Weekends!
Mega Line Dance
For : Whole Family
This will be one of the biggest line dance in Singapore this year. Put on your dancing shoes and dance to the tune with thousands of others around you. This event will bring together all the line dance community groups in Singapore and pair them with dance/film makers. The resulting dance/film project will be showcased in dance/film series of Singapore Arts Festival 2011. This event is part of the Singapore Arts Festival Festival 2010.
The public is encouraged to take public transport to either events.
Date: 13 June (Sunday)
Time: 6pm – 9pm
Venue: There are 2 locations for this events and they have slightly different themes. :
A. The Promontory @ Marina Bay
It has the Country Line Dance theme. Just beside the new NTUC Building at One Marina Boulevard. Please come dressed in shades of red or yellow in support of the passion and happiness of dancing in the arts!![]()

All participants will receive a goodie bag worth $20. First 200 that arrive at each venue will receive an early-bird goodie bag worth over $100. So be there early!!!
The PC Show 2010

Pre-parenting Workshop
For: Parents/Would-Be parents
This workshop organised by Centre for Fathering & KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital consists of 2 parts. Part 1 – A Strong Marriage to Welcome Your Newborn. You were couples first before you became parents. Being a parent does not mean you are no longer husband and wife. The couples come together for discussions on decision-making and positive communication. Part 2 – Parenting Right from the Start. The baby will be arriving soon. It will help to build a foundation of understanding your duties, roles and commitment to your baby. Fathers are parents too and shared responsibility is essential to fully benefit the baby by understanding your newborn’s signs and signals.

Marina Barrage Kite Kite Making/flying competition
For : Whole Family
Soaring as a Family – this event is held at the Marina Barrage. This kite making/ flying competition seeks to imbue pro family values and encourages family bonding. It stresses the importance of all members of family to make conscious efforts to build a strong and cohesive family. Through this event, each family unit will be encouraged to vision together and create a family theme for their respective kites. Together they will make, design, and then fly their family kites, SOARING AS A FAMILY. Families are given abundant opportunities to have fun, learn to interact, communicate effectively and bond in a relaxed environment.

Family Affair on Bicycle 2010
For: Family with child of 5 years old and above.
Come join us for a fun and exciting amazing race at ECP! Here’s the twist, you get to go on bicycles! Less tiring? You bet! Hesitate no more! Your adventure awaits you! Families will play games at designated locations along the ECP.

Feed your Family for under $20
For : Parents
Research has shown that families who eat together have stronger bonds with each other and also eat more healthily. Families who eat together, stay together.
To help families with coming up with easy family meal recipe which are easy for the wallets, come join us at the Unilever Foods Roadshow and learn how to whip up a delicious family meal for 4 for just under $20.
There will be on site demonstration on how to cook 4 different recipes using your favourite food products from Unilever: Lipton, Skippy, Knorr, Ragu and Ladies Choice.
